- A new category has been added to SMASH!: Dance/Upbeat
- In addition, a new special award has been introduced: Best Technical Award
- .mov and a few other codecs are now accepted
- Last day to receive entries: 30 June 2012, by 11:59 p.m. Sydney Time (UTC +10)

Right folks, the Manifest Iron Chef entry is closing this Monday. I'm right now going to apply myself in the hopes of defending my title from last year.

I will also use this opportunity to just say thanks to everyone as this will be the last competition I will be entering. Win or lose, I think I've had a great run and I hope I've inspired enough that others out there will keep up the spirit of Australian AMV making.

Well it looks like they've finally released the rules for this year's IC competition.

Applications close 01 August. I am guessing that they'll bring it in no matter what now. As for how the contest itself will go, I guess we'll just have to wait and see on the day itself. I've asked them in who the host is going to be this year however back then they haven't decided yet.
I'm willing to reserve judgment on how this will turn out until after it's done. Seeing as how I'm champion from last year, I think it's my duty to enter too, isn't it? Who's game enough to take me on?!
